POSITION SUMMARY

Under close supervision, the duties of a Care of Ship Carpenter employee may vary from day to day, based on the needs of the Company. Duties may include clean up, prepping a job site, working with power tools, working with other departments, and general housekeeping duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING: Because Eastern

Shipbuilding is continually growing to meet the needs of our customers; the essential duties and responsibilities may be different than described.

· Regular attendance at work and the ability to work flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, and holidays.

· Comply with company, Federal, State, and local safety, ethics, and environmental rules, regulations and policies while performing duties.

· De-watering of vessel.

· Assisting with blocking of vessel.

· Covering/protecting equipment (with plywood, fire cloth, heat shrink).

· Installing handrails.

· Assisting paint department.

· Perform other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

REQUIREMENTS

Education/Experience: High school diploma or GED equivalence plus prior manual labor experience desired. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
