Salary $15 an hour Job Type Part-time
SUMMARY
The Food Services Assistant is responsible for preparing, serving, cleaning, and billing documents associated with the National School Lunch Program. This position also participates in preparing meals for the Caminos program and is a back-up in the commissary.
This is a Part-time position; working Monday through Friday the shift hours can vary from 6:30 am to 3:30 pm; flexible, as needed to meet department needs.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or 2 years food service experience
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must have a valid Florida Driver License
- Must have good organizational skills
- Must be able to adjust recipes as needed for serving size
- Must be able to prioritize tasks to have all meal items ready at the same time
- Ability to relate to school age children and youth and house parents
- Retail experience is helpful, but not required
- Must have sensitivity to the service population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics
