Primary Caretaker
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced caretaker to join our vibrant primary school in Maldon. As a caretaker, you will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for our students, staff, and visitors.

We have a committed staff team who work collaboratively to create a positive learning environment. As a caretaker, you will play an essential role in supporting our school community and contributing to the overall success of our students.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out general maintenance tasks such as repairing fixtures, furniture, and equipment.
- Conducting regular inspections to identify any potential safety hazards and addressing them promptly.
- Overseeing the security of the premises, including opening and closing the school, ensuring all doors and windows are secure, and responding to any alarms.
- Managing the cleaning and upkeep of classrooms, corridors, and communal areas.
- Assisting with the setup of classrooms and the organization of school events.
- Coordinating and supervising external contractors when necessary.
- Handling minor plumbing, electrical, and heating repairs.
- Performing other duties as required to maintain the smooth operation of the school.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a caretaker or maintenance role, preferably in an educational setting.
- Good knowledge of health and safety regulations.
- Strong practical skills, including basic DIY repairs and maintenance.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility to occasionally work outside regular hours for emergencies or special events.
